This course will help you to have a wider critical overview of policy developments regarding staff development within the sector, such as the Youth Justice Professional Framework, and their intended impact. Further, you will explore what it takes to be a successful manager and coach, developing the skills to empower the members of your team through their professional development. This module will also provide you with the skills necessary to become a ‘work-based coach’ to support colleagues (for example, who are undertaking the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate and the Foundation Degree in Youth Justice).

This course is designed to help you develop as a manager and as a workplace coach. It will help you to move into more senior management roles or to get your foot on the management ladder.
The Managing and Coaching module also forms part of the BA (Hons) Youth Justice. If you have already completed the Foundation Degree in Youth Justice, the module will give you an extra 60 credits towards the BA (Hons), one sixth of the total credits needed.
