Who are our courses for?
Our courses are ideal for people who want to have a rewarding and challenging career in the criminal justice system working with both children and adults. We focus on the knowledge and skills essential for employability in the sector. We have designed the main qualifications in youth justice in England and Wales such as the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate and the Foundation Degree in Youth Justice that have been undertaken by several thousand people.
If you already work in either a paid or voluntary capacity in the criminal justice system or allied services such as youth work then our courses will enable you to improve your knowledge and skills and to progress your career. For example, all the prison officers in England and Wales who work with children are now undertaking the Foundation Degree in Youth Justice with Unitas bringing them increased pay and recognition as a youth justice specialist worker.
If, however you simply want to undertake interesting and rewarding courses that will help equip you with relevant transferable skills and increase your employability without the time and money required to attend a traditional university campus then Unitas courses are for you.

What are the benefits?
Your course will be academically rigorous but vocationally focused. You will receive many of the benefits of a campus-based University as your degree will be awarded by the University of Suffolk, having access to their library and celebrating your achievements at their graduation ceremony. However, you will also receive vocational accreditation from Skills for Justice Awards and endorsement by the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales.
There are no exams as your work is assessed by written assignments and online quizzes.
While you will decide where and when you will study you will always have access to our learning coaches to help you with study skills and to plan and prepare assignments and give you feedback on your work. If you ever need practical and technical assistance or other advice on your course, then our student support coordinators are on hand to help.
