Youth Justice Practitioner Apprenticeship (Level 5)
Unitas is proud to offer the Level 5 Youth Justice Practitioner Apprenticeship standard in addition to our range of vocational courses. This course is ideal for those starting their professional path in youth justice settings.
A typical duration period for the standard is 18-25 months, and throughout your studies, you will receive full support from our own experienced in-house team of learning coaches and tutors.
This dedicated level of support has always been at the forefront of our mission to ensure you succeed.

Included in your apprenticeship is access to our unique digital materials, bespoke regional or online workshops to support the apprentice learning experience as well as online and in-person support visits to the workplace.
Overview of the YJPA
What will an apprentice gain from the programme?
An induction session will commence learning, linking the apprenticeship to the workplace.
Apprentices will complete 4 knowledge modules underpinned by the Child First Tenets and aligning with the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) in the YJPA Standard that combine practical relevance and academic rigour.

Diversion and court practice skills
Modules 1 and 2 of the YJPA focus on understanding of core youth justice principles and policies. Modules 3 and 4 cover the eight areas of the Youth Justice Skills Matrix.
In the workplace, the apprentice will learn on-the-job skills and may be assigned a mentor or experienced colleague to work with.

Your Level 5 apprenticeship, once successfully completed, is an approved entry route for you to continue your studies with us to gain a BA (Hons) in Youth Justice!
