Trauma-Informed Practice EPA
Developed by Unitas in partnership with the Youth Justice Board (YJB) and accredited by Skills for Justice (SfJ), this Effective Practice Award explores the key principles of trauma-informed practice. You will gain a thorough understanding of its evidence base, how trauma impacts children, and the practical steps you can take to apply this approach in your daily work with children in the youth justice system.

The course examines core principles such as recognising the prevalence of trauma, prioritising safety and trust, and fostering positive relationships to promote recovery and resilience. By integrating these principles into your practice, you will be better equipped to understand and respond to the needs of children, supporting their wellbeing and helping them move towards positive outcomes.
