This Effective Practice Award (EPA) is designed to help you to understand the key principles of diversion from the formal criminal justice system – either out of court disposal or prosecution, and the implications of these in everyday practice with children and young people who have been involved in low-level offences.

This EPA has been produced by Unitas in partnership with the Centre for Justice Innovation (CJI). CJI champions practice innovation and evidence-led policy reform in a variety of areas, including diversion.
